Hinge Replacement Installation Tips
When replacing existing hinges it is very easy to strip out the old screw
holes when installing new screws, especially when using an electric screwdriver.
Buy a 1/8" wood dowel rod before starting your project, you can get them at
any home center or good hardware store. Place the dowel rod into one of the old screw holes to get the depth
of the hole, snip it off with shears or a razor knife. Repeat this for the rest of the existing screw holes.
Now when you drive in the new screws you will have a snug installation. |
